AMS Community Assistance Reaching Everyone Sponsor (CARES) Program

A New Way To Give Back

Welcome to our Appalachian Maid Services - Community Assistance Reaching Everyone Sponsor Program, or AMS CARES Program. We created this sponsorship program to be able to serve our Tri-City communities’ non-profits and empower our employees. We encourage you to read about the non-profits our clients support by using AMS, and if you have any suggestions for next year’s nominations feel free to let us know. We’re always looking for new nonprofits to support that might not be as well known.

Our Sponsor program starts with our employees voting on 12 non-profits they want AMS to sponsor through the year, one for each month. We then let the 12 non-profits know they’ve been selected and will be provided a $1,000 sponsorship to help them serve the Tri-Cities area. Each month, AMS highlights a different non-profit on our social media and share more about what they do. We encourage non-profits to choose a month that coincides with national awareness or fundraising campaigns and are given on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, we place the 12 organizations’ logo on the back of our uniform shirts, so that our clients will be able to see who we’re supporting in the community.

We wanted to create a program for our community that makes an impact, not only for our clients and employees, but that will hopefully inspire others to give and expand the organizations’ impact locally. This is a long-term contribution and commitment to the community and we can’t wait to see how it grows. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss the program in more detail, or submit a nonprofit for nomination. By choosing us for your cleaning needs, know that you also support these amazing organizations!

Meet This Year’s 12 Non-Profit Sponsorships!

Washington County Animal Hospital

We are here for animals who are lost, surrendered, neglected or mistreated, and who all deserve a chance with a loving family of their very own. We provide a soft bed, food, comfort, medical evaluation, medical treatment, and vaccinations for each animal in our shelter. Last year we served over 2,500 pets, and reunited 317 with their families.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Appalachian

In cases where parents are faced with the distress of an ill child, our Ronald McDonald House provides temporary lodging and the comforts of “home” for those families. Our House is available to a family with a child, aged 21 years or younger, that is receiving medical treatment at any area hospital. Each month, over 20 illnesses will bring a family to our door, including but not limited to prematurity, cancer, respiratory issues, various surgeries, & emergency care.

cleaning for a reason

Cleaning for a Reason is a nonprofit organization that offers free home cleaning to cancer patients in the United States. Our goal is to remove the burden of cleaning and allow those recovering from surgery, in active treatment, or in hospice to focus on their health and spending valuable time with loved ones. We partner with local cleaning companies and connect them with patients that need help. Since our founding in 2006, Cleaning for a Reason and its partners have provided free home cleaning for more than 58,003 cancer patients and their families across all 50 states.

United way

United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. We win by living United. By forging unlikely partnerships. By finding new solutions to old problems. By mobilizing our best resources. And by inspiring individuals to join the fight against our region’s most daunting social crises.

First tennessee area agency on aging & disability

We used the donation to purchase some "Joy for All" robotic cats and dogs. The pets are such a blessing to those that receive them. They would be made available for distribution to adults over age 60 with dementia or other conditions that would benefit from the comfort a pet would normally provide. The pets prevent loneliness and promote quality of life and independence to older Tennesseans and adults with disabilities.

isaiah 117

When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement. This wait can be a few hours to several days. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good placement.
